Building the Skybridge
The Skybridge
The Skybridge

The Skybridge is a cable-stayed bridge in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Built between 1987 and 1989, it spans the Fraser River and connects New Westminster with Surrey. Gordon got involved because "… one day a guy called me up to see if I wanted to build a bridge. I had to dig a hole in the side of a bank for a footing for the bridge. They had to make a ramp for me. And a big crane to put me on it. We used the Kubota. It didn't bother me at all to see my family's livelyhood hanging from a cable. And I was okay working on the cantilevered ramp too. But I was very very careful."
